About Tile Lady

Tile Lady Sales/Marketing Mgr. For Elon Tile & Stone. My almost 20 years in the Tile industry was not planned. It was a combination of a bad economy , which at the time, left me unemployed. A little luck, and knowing the right person, put my foot in Elon Tile’s door. I earned my BA, but like most, wasn’t sure what I was suited to do. I tried Insurance, that wasn’t for me. I thought I wanted to become a Buyer, so I started at the bottom (literally the basement floor) with Bloomingdale’s as an assistant to the assistant , to the associate Buyers of the accessories department. I never saw the light of day, so I moved on. I’d never given much thought to Interior Design. When I was offered a position for a small but reputable manufacturer of high- end fabrics and wallpapers, I didn’t know what to expect. My visual and tactile senses were awakened, and tutored to understand and appreciate the quality and detail necessary to turn out beautiful, sought after products. It’s an art. This fit for me. After a little more than a year and a promotion to in house production manager, turns out I was the most expendable when the economy took a turn. With that experience and my newly developed appreciation, it allowed me to work with tile in all its forms and types. It’s art!
